In 2015, Singapores industries, hotels, restaurants, warehousing, retails, and real estates together guzzled close to 70% of the electricity generated. As environment legislations tighten their grips and the bottoming - up of fuel prices, energy has become a strategic drive for corporate social responsibility and cost reductions. The WSQ Energy Efficiency Course, which is jointly organised by the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) and the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES), is of high relevance to your company in monitoring and managing energy usage. It is structured to equip participants with the essential skills to capture, analyse, visualise and control energy usage.
BILT is an annual event, run in multiple regions around the globe, designed to cater to the needs of those who design, build, operate and maintain our built environment. As a community of professionals, it is dedicated to improving the way industry works together. As an educational and networking event, BILT provides a variety of opportunities to learn and share, to probe and challenge, to listen and to be heard. Our sessions focus on the use of best-in-class tools, processes and workflows, behaviours and leadership. As a natural and necessary evolution of the RTC Community, BILT is a unique, independent conference and community. Whether you are a practitioner or consumer of BIM, DE, VDC; whether your projects are buildings or infrastructure; whatever your preferred technology; whatever your role in the lifecycle of the built environment; we want to help you, your firm and wider industry become more effective, more impactful and more productive.

The active push for Singapore buildings to be green has generated a strong demand for a new "green collar" workforce. This has created an urgent need for associate professionals with the knowledge and skills to apply the latest knowledge and skills to apply the latest knowledge in green building technology (GBT) and mechanical services to design, maintain and manage green buildings. The Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Green Building Technology) builds on the core of a mechanical engineering programme with an emphasis on GBT. GBT increases the efficiency in the use of building resources such as energy, water and building materials while reducing the impact they have on human health and the environment.
This one-day course covers the detailed design of reinforced concrete structural elements to Eurocode 2 (EC2). The emphasis is on buildings that are constructed insitu, braced by structural walls and are non-sway.

As the Singapore Government pushes for higher productivity in various sectors, more and more cranes will be deployed at various work places. Use of cranes at site involves many people from various organisations, such as the crane manufacturer, site occupier, crane contractor, and various sub-contractors that use the cranes. According to the latest Singapore Standard on Safe Use of Tower Cranes SS 559:2010, it is crucial that one person be appointed to have overall control of the cranes. This appointed person shall be notified formally in writing of their appointment. This course is aimed at anyone who is required to plan safe systems of work, using lifting equipment and intends to take up this position as an appointed person. It is recommended that prior to attending this course, individuals should have some experience of working with lifting equipment, especially mobile cranes and tower cranes.
