They can be used directly for design, or for the checking of computer-based designs. The course provide an alternate design method of equal difficulty to conventional procedures; it will be found that many problems can be tackled surprisingly easily using these powerful methods. The methods are an aid to understanding. Many work examples are presented showing how the various methods can be used. The emphasis is on the use of the methods for practical problem solving.

This is a course detailing the fundamentals of process safety and safety case. The topics covered include technical safety, major hazards assessment, the Workplace Safety & Health (Major Hazard Installation) Regulations, safety case, process safety management and an industry learning journey (to the Petrochemical Corporation of Singapore).Safety case is a newly introduced regime in Singapore. Professional Engineers (Chemical) from diverse operational backgrounds may not have the specialised knowledge on the elements and requirements of safety case, as well as important process safety aspects in chemical plant operations.

This technical course covers design principles, installation of equipment, testing and commissioning, operations and maintenance including periodic examination and inspection of lifts and escalators. This is a 5-day course which comprises both classroom lectures and practical sessions. Participants will gain in-depth technical knowledge on lifts and escalators, with particular emphasis on the examination, inspection and testing of such equipment.
